The Club
The Outcasts are the official touring side of Blackheath Hockey Club.
This club within a club was founded in the 1930s.  It has travelled extensively in both hemispheres, representing not only Blackheath but English hockey itself.
The club's emblem is the yellow flag of quarantine, which is borne on the club tie and is also incorporated in the club crest above. Here it is carried by the basilisk, or  cockatrice, a mythical, highly vicious and malodorous creature which could kill a man just by him looking at it.
Outcasts 5th XI International Tours

Here is a summary of more recent Outcasts tours.  In 1990 a number of Blackheath players who had all represented the club's 5th XI, a notoriously "social" team, made the inaugural 5th XI International Tour, to Wales.  This began a tradition which has continued almost uninterrupted to the present day.
